2020 Year in Review

Advertisements

I don’t think this will come as a shock when I say 2020 was one of the hardest years, not only for me, but for a lot of people as well.

It was a year I couldn’t live out my travel plans. A year I was forced to be home alone for most of the time. A year I couldn’t grow my blog. And a year I didn’t get to see my friends as much.

My goals for the year were pretty lofty – I wanted to travel to at least 3 new states AND 3 new countries. I also hoped to write 20 blogs in 12 months.

When the pandemic was in full swing and I couldn’t travel, I put off my blog… for a good 4 months! I just didn’t have the motivation to write. When I finally did get around to writing again, it was because I had recently traveled, and although the experience was anxiety inducing and some attractions were closed, I was still grateful for adventure.

I didn’t realize how much I truly missed getting out, seeing new places and taking a butt load of pictures.

Despite it all, 2020 showed me I still have so much to be thankful for: my health and a good job for starters. Not to mention, my blog didn’t too bad either.

I wrote 10 blog posts
I gained 31 WordPress followers
I gained about 60 Pinterest followers
Most commented blog was 11 Creative Travel DIY’s You Can Do @ Home
Most “liked” blog was Welcome to Iceland
Most viewed blog was How to Have a Girl’s Weekend in Sioux Falls, SD

What about 2021?

In the new year I hope to keep writing things that bring me joy. I hope to continue going on road trips, seeing new states and making memories along the way.

The year was hard, but that only makes me look to the future with more excitement.
