I’m so excited to share this blog with all of you!
So, I recently went to Massachusetts for three days because I have a loving, successful uncle who was taking his plane out there for some business and let me join him! #blessed
Here’s how to make the most out of a short visit and see 3 very different Massachusetts’ cities:
BOSTON
Boston is such a cool city and there’s so much to do that nearly it’s impossible to fit everything in in less than 24 hours. I would recommend sticking with 3-4 MUST SEE items and making your way through the city on your own time. Some of my “must haves” included:
- Walking around the Boston Harbor
- Walking around Beacon Hill (my idea of the perfect new England architecture)
- A friend told me about the Freedom Trail and that I should take it to Little Italy to find good food (thanks Sawyer, if you’re reading!)
SALEM
From Boston, you can take the MBTA Commuter Rail going to Newburyport/Rockport. It’s about a 30-minute ride. Salem itself is pretty walkable but they do have Uber drivers in the area. Be sure to check out:
- The Witch House (the last standing building with ties to the Salem Witch Trials)
- The Witch Trials Memorial
- The Burying Point (the oldest cemetery in Salem)
- The House of the Seven Gables (has ties to Nathanial Hawthorne)
- Cost $15 for students for a tour
- Max and Dani’s house in “Hocus Pocus”
I only paid for the one tour, other wise I walked around by myself and really had time read and take pictures on my own time.
BEDFORD
Bedford is a smaller town so I couldn’t find an easily accessible route here. I instead took a 30-minute Uber ride from Boston and picked up some coffee at Starbucks for my walk around a random park before my flight departed.
Overall, I’m extremely grateful for my uncle for allowing me to join him on this little, quick trip and I would love to go back and explore more of Boston itself!
