And whenever I’m feeling sad about not being in a foreign land, my secret pick-me up is to read inspiring travel quotes.     I think #8 is so true. Because as humans we always compare and traveling is no different. I think travel makes us more cultured, tolerant and understanding of ourselves and others.

    This is such good quotes…. #2 is a quote I mention to alot of people who don’t travel. “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” …. Travel is a great knowledge.

    I find : “When overseas you learn more about your own country than you do the place you’re visiting.” to be so true. I remember being surprised that people outside of the US pay more attention to our politics than I do.

    These made me smile and of course, after travelling for 40 years and exploring 65 countries, they resonate so well. Thank God for differences – cultures, languages, food and people – it makes everything so much richer.

    Wow, #8 really hit home: When overseas you learn more about your own country, than you do the place you’re visiting.

    I’ve been living abroad for 3 years and it really makes me analyze my home country a lot more.
