What to Pack in a Carry On

What to Pack in a Carry On + a Free Checklist

IMG_0301

If anyone has ever flown before, you know the importance of carry ons. And if you haven’t traveled by plane before, don’t worry, this post will help you be better prepared when it comes to airport luggage. Okay so lets dive in!

A carry on refers to the small purse or bag that you get to have with you at all times during the plane ride, it doesn’t have to go in stow away like regular luggage. The size of carry on allowed depends on the aircraft carrier. However, if you are choosing to only have a carry on, this post will probably not be of any use to you.

Things that I have in my carry on at all times are:

Processed with VSCO with m5 preset

ELECTRONICS

  • Headphones
  • My cellphone and charger

CLOTHES

  • A scarf — this can double as a blanket if need be (I always find plane rides to be cold)
  • Extra socks

KEEP ME BUSY

  • A notebook
  • Pencil/Pen
  • A book

MEDICINE

FOOD

  • Gum — to pop my ears and keep my breathe fresh
  • Water bottle –people can get easily dehydrated on planes, so drink up!

ANYTHING ELSE

  • Sunglasses

You can add extra stuff if need be, but these are the top ten things I would recommend having in your carry on at ALL times!

Happy Packing 🙂

  1. I always find my carryon the most important bag I pack. I pack everything you’ve listed plus a change of clothes, p.j.s and my bathing suit, just in case my luggage is lost or delayed for some reason.

Great list! I would add an iPad or tablet with downloaded movies to watch as more and more flights don’t have entertainment systems anymore. I also always bring Vitamin C with me as an extra immune system booster during longer flights to keep me from getting sick.

  3. Don’t forget your hand wipes or hand sanitizer! That’s especially useful with the current virus going around. And even some alcohol wipes for the arm rests and table area. You know they don’t clean those properly.

Great tips! Sometimes the only thing I bring is a carry on and I bring most of those items! I also bring anything that is of importance with me-wallet, any electronics, paperwork, anything I can’t afford to loose in a checked bag (when I do bring one).

Carry-on is difficult. I want to pack enough to be comfortable if my luggage is lost, but I hate carrying it around! Thanks for the tips!

I always bring some snacks in my carry-on an empty water bottle to fill once I get through security. Also, undergarments are a necessity. I can live without pajamas but I need to have clean undergarments for the next day if my bags lost
