California as a whole is full of diverse cultures, fabulous beaches, and stunning mountain ranges. Since the Western state is bigger than more than half of America’s other states, it’s impossible to see everything in one trip! I recently got back from the Southern part of California and decided to share on exciting activities anyone can do there.
Laguna Beach.
(Or any beach for that matter.) Southern California is considerably warmer than Northern California for obvious reasons, so even if you take a trip in the middle of December-like I did-treat yourself to a day at the beach. Laguna Beach is fun because of its rocky, picturesque coastline that inhabits part of the beach.
Afters.
Don’t ask questions. Just do it. Afters is located in Chino Hills, and has one of the most unusual food choices I’ve ever experienced. Afters lets you choose a flavor of ice cream, the ice cream is then sandwiched between two halves of a glazed donut. Ice cream in a donut? Trust me, you don’t want to knock it before you try it!
Pieology.
This is another food place because, everyone needs some treats on their trip! What makes Pieology different is that you get to choose your own toppings. Whatever topping you want and how ever many you see fit is what you’ll get. Does a cheddar cheese pizza with spinach, tomatoes, and bacon sound good? How about a parmesan cheese pizza with steak, onions, and pineapple? Whatever you’re in the mood for, Pieology can make it!
Hiking.
Most states don’t offer the opportunity to go hiking in breathtaking mountains. California makes this possible with stunning mountain ranges wherever you turn your head, and with a hiking trail to suit your comfort zone. Remember to keep an eye out for snakes and falling rocks!
See the Young Americans.
Wherever you live, there will be opportunities to see live shows such as plays, musicals, or dances, however, you will never see a show quite like the Young Americans performance. The Young Americans is a performing arts college with the school right in Southern California. The students of this college get to practice their talents by traveling around the U.S. and the rest of the globe giving tours to high schools, in hopes of getting more young students excited about the arts.
So there you have it, 5 absolutely fun and exciting things to do while in Southern California.
